  1. Children with more self-control had significantly higher levels of intelligence.

  5. Priming effect -> after looking at word ‘EAT’ you will most likely recognize ‘SOUP’ rather than ‘SOAP’.
  6. Florida effect —> after talking about old age, students were walking slowly throughout the corridor.
  7. Actions of an individual can be influenced by suggestion and expectations without the individual being consciously aware of it. This is known as the ideomotor effect.

  10. Money primes individualism. When you are focussed on money you don’t care about anyone’s feelings or even helping others.

  1. Pupils dilate when you do cognitively intense exercises.
  2. Concentration even leads to partial blindness.
  3. If there are different ways of achieving a goal, people will gravitate towards the path that is easiest.
  4. Switching between two tasks requires a lot of effort.
  5. In order to perform hard brain functions you need concentration as wells as deliberate control of attention. But if you can achieve ‘State of Flow’ you only need concentration.
  6. When you are busy, you lose self-control, you don’t care about sounding rude or replying to your partner in a cute way.
  7. System 2 —> Self Control —> Ego Depletion.
  8. Even impressing others is a form of Ego Depletion.
  9. While doing a difficult task your blood sugar level drops.
  10. While doing stupid question, System 1 will make you give a wrong answer. If System 1 sees a conclusion is true, it will also try to convince you that the argument is also true.
